Dr. Jose Salinas from the U.S. Army Institute of Surgical Research Joins Career Advisory Council

Dr. Jose Salinas is the research task area manager for the Comprehensive Intensive Care Research program at the U.S. Army Institute of Surgical Research at Fort Sam Houston.

The program is currently focused on development of clinical solutions to improve outcomes of military combat casualties arriving at different treatment facilities and echelons of care.

As part of these efforts, Dr. Salinas guides research into development of improved digital signal processing algorithms for enhanced diagnosis of combat casualties including the use of advanced machine learning techniques for better physiologic models of trauma injuries.

As a Career Advisory Council member, Dr. Salinas will be available to speak to students about what it is like to work in a research institute for the federal government and military.

Dr. Salinas recently spoke at The Health Cell’s 2015 State of the Industry event on Feb. 10 in San Antonio about casualty care research. To read more, click here.

The Career Advisory Council is comprised of leaders in the biomedical science community of San Antonio. The council members are a resource of insights and expertise from real-world experience for UTHSCSA trainees.
