Congratulations to Dr. Shivani Ruparel who just had a R01 funded by National Institute of Dental and Craniofacial Research

Congratulations to an alum of the CSB graduate program, Dr. Shivani Ruparel who just had a R01 funded by National Institute of Dental and Craniofacial Research  (NIDCR)!!

Shivani, who graduated in 2008 and was a Ph.D. student in Bob Marciniak’s lab, is currently an Assistant Professor (tenure-track) in the Department of Endodontics in the Dental School. Her RO1 that was funded in the first submission and she also received a grant from Ella and William Owens foundation in 2015 in addition to a 2-year American Cancer Society Grant Award in 2015.

Her research program is focused on investigating mechanisms mediating pain induced by oral cancers and novel palliative analgesics for use in oral cancer patients.

Congratulations also to her mentor, Bob!
