Samantha Yee, 5th year PhD student in the laboratory of Dr. April Risinger, was awarded the Matthew P. Rowan Student of the Year Award on October 13th, 2021.

The award is named after one of our students that was tragically taken from us a few years ago and presented yearly to a graduate student in the Department of Pharmacology.

Sam is in the Physiology & Pharmacology discipline and currently has six publications, three of which are first author. In addition to her productivity, she has served on the Graduate Student Symposium Committee for the Department of Pharmacology and is the current chair. Sam was recently awarded a NCI F99/K00 predoctoral to postdoctoral fellow transition grant.
