The first campus wide networking event, UTHSCSA Voices brought together more than 180 University of Texas Health Science Center students.

The goal of UTHSCSA Voices was to bring together the student community by showcasing inspirational stories from representatives of each of the five UT Health Science Center schools.

“Another goal of the event was to allow students to learn more about how each health profession works in the hopes of giving students a more holistic understanding of all health professions and sciences,” said Le’Keisha Johnson, the director of the Office of Student Life who helped planned the event.

During the event, two student presenters from each school (10 speakers total) spoke about their personal experience that led to to their chosen professions, as well as, the uniqueness of their schools and programs. In addition, eight students from each school served as table leaders to help facilitate networking during the dinner.

“The room was literally abuzz with engaging conversations shared over a
warm meal,” Johnson said.
