Natalina Martinez: New Director of Finance and Administration in the Graduate Dean’s Office

12 Oct 2015
anthonyc

As many of you may have heard, Natalina Martinez, MBA, has been hired as the new Director of Finance and Administration in the Graduate Dean’s Office as of September 14, 2015.

Natalina takes on the responsibilities once handled by Curt Schiebel who has transitioned to the VPR Office.

Natalina has worked here at the UT Health Science Center since 2004 starting out in Pharmacology as an Accountant, before being promoted to Senior Accountant, and then Business Administrator in the department, streamlining processes for efficiency and effectiveness at every step of the way.

In 2011, Natalina was the top choice in the Department of Microbiology and Immunology for the open position, Manager of Finance and Administration, where she was regarded as an exceptional and accomplished professional with great leadership and organizational skills.

Natalina is a graduate of St. Mary’s University, earning her MBA in Financial Planning in 2005. She comes to us highly recommended by her peers even winning Administrator of the Year Award in December 2014. I know Natalina will bring her breadth of knowledge of business administration and financial planning systems to the Dean’s Office and will be a huge asset to our team. Join me in welcoming Natalina to the Graduate
School.

I also wish to take the time to thank Curt Schiebel who has served as the Assistant Dean of Finance and Administration in the Graduate School since 2008. In 2011, he also took on the role of finances in the VPR Office and wore two hats as the Assistant Dean of Graduate and Research Administration.

Curt has been especially important in the strategic development of the graduate school as it has evolved over the past seven years, especially during the transition of the Basic Science Departments into the SOM.

Please join me in thanking Curt for all that he has done on behalf of graduate education on our campus and also wishing him the best in the VPR Office.
