The Brown University Division of Biology and Medicine invite applications for a tenure track or tenured faculty position at any rank. Brown University is making substantial commitments and financial investments in the area of molecular, cellular and translational research into mechanisms of neurodegeneration, particularly related to Alzheimer’s Disease (AD) and AD-related Dementias (ADRD) to expand on three decades of outstanding interdisciplinary research in brain science at Brown.
This opening is part of a larger plan to grow translational research faculty. The Division of Biology and Medicine is composed of the Warren Alpert Medical School and the Program in Biology. It is home to five basic biology departments and 14 clinical departments, and is affiliated with eight diverse teaching hospitals including very strong research in neuroscience, specifically through the Carney Institute for Brain Science. The successful applicant will hold a PhD and/or MD degree and use advanced cellular, molecular or genetic approaches to address fundamental, disease-relevant mechanisms related to AD or neurodegeneration more generally.
Applicants should have an exceptional record of innovative and rigorous scholarly work. Applications are welcome from investigators looking for their first faculty position as well as from more established scientists with an international reputation, a highly successful and externally supported independent research program. A collaborative approach to research and scholarship is essential.
