Viva Science SA Seeks Booths and Abstracts from Local Scientists
Dear UT Health San Antonio Community,
On behalf of UT Health San Antonio’s Graduate School of Biomedical Sciences (GSBS), I am excited to share that we will be hosting Viva Science SA on Saturday, April 18, 2020 at The Witte Museum. This event was formerly known as Science Fiesta in 2016 and 2017. With your support, we hope the rebirth of this event will foster engagement between scientists and the general public while showcasing the importance of Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) to San Antonio’s economic and cultural development.
The event will feature a keynote presentation along with an interactive area for kids and ‘kids at heart’. Additionally, there will be science-themed artwork and research posters (see attached) by local scientists designed to be both informative and accessible to the general public. To satisfy the festive nature of the event, Viva Science SA will have music, food trucks, and ice cream! Many more exciting details will be forthcoming in the coming weeks so be sure to follow us on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram. The Viva Science SA website can be found at www.vivasciencesa.com.
At this time, we are pleased to invite you to collaborate with us in hosting this exciting event. With your engagement, we hope to convey to the community the joys of scientific inquiry and generate goodwill throughout the community by investing and giving back to our fellow San Antonians. We encourage you to purchase a booth to showcase an activity on behalf of your respective group.
Attendance for the event is free to the community.
We hope that you will join with us in ensuring the success of this event, which is one that is sure to bring together all San Antonians around the joys of science. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact Marcus Webster at websterm@uthscsa.edu or at (210) 567 – 3708. We look forward to working with you and seeing you at Viva Science SA in April!
