Announcement: Charlotte Anthony Will Be Leaving UT Health San Antonio
GSBS Community,
After seven wonderful years of employment in the Graduate School of Biomedical Sciences, Charlotte Anthony is leaving UT Health San Antonio at the end of January. Charlotte has been the Senior Marketing Specialist and her work has been nothing short of transformational for the GSBS, as well as UT Health San Antonio.
Most of you know her as the editor of The Pipette Gazette where she kept the GSBS community informed of events and of the many successes of our graduate students, alumni, faculty, and staff. Her social media skills and creativity was leveraged by nearly all of our graduate programs to help with program outreach and student recruitment.
But Charlotte’s interests went well beyond marketing and she became a key facilitator of many student outreach and social activities. And her efforts went beyond the GSBS in that she helped conceive, organize and implement activities that spanned the institution such as the Stem Scholars Program (which led to a publication), Voices, Interprofessional Student Orientation, and UT Health San Antonio Family Day.
While I could go on with the list of accolades, I wanted to mention one particular initiative and that was her development of The Pipette Kids Science Coloring and Activity Book (available on Amazon) created for budding young (K-12) scientists. It features some of our own graduate students and faculty as characters. This is just one example from a long list of creative accomplishments that furthered the mission of the GSBS, UT Health San Antonio, and science education.
We are thankful to Charlotte for all her great work and wish her the very best in her future endeavors.
