The Graduate Dean’s Office is pleased to announce that Dr. Jean Jiang will serve as the Associate Director of the Joint Biomedical Engineering Program, effective immediately. She had served as Interim Associate Director since February 2015.

Dr. Jean Jiang, who received her Ph.D. in Biochemistry from State University of New York at Stony Brook, is also a Professor in the Department of Biochemistry. She completed her post-doctoral fellowship at Harvard Medical School. Dr. Jiang’s research focuses on understanding the molecular mechanism of intercellular and intracellular signaling mediated by connexin channels, and the functional importance of these channels in the lens, skeletal tissues and cancer metastasis.

We appreciate everything that Dr. Jiang has contributed to UTHSCSA and look forward to the continued growth and success of the Joint Biomedical Engineering Program in the future.
