GSBS Professor Dr. Phil LoVerde was featured in The Rivard Report with Dr. Tim Anderson from Texas Biomedical Research Institute for their research on the Schistosomiasis and the drug used to treat it.

Schistosomiasis is a tropical disease that kills up to 200,000 people every year, mostly in Sub-Saharan Africa and South America and more than 67 million people are infected worldwide.

The team were recently awarded a $3.5 million grant from the National Institutes of Health.
