Highlights from the 2018 Graduate Student Appreciation Week
The Graduate School of Biomedical Sciences recently celebrated Graduate Student Appreciation Week during the first week of April.
An event was scheduled for each day of the week. The week started off with a Monday afternoon seminar on “Stress Management” given by Marcella Alvarez, LPC, from the Student Counseling Center. Donuts and coffee were available for all GSBS students on Tuesday morning in the AAB lobby by the GSBS conference room.
Forty GSBS students signed up to have their professional photo taken on Wednesday at the UT Photography Studio. The photo session event was a big success and the GSBS plan to offer this opportunity to more GSBS students in the coming months.
On Thursday afternoon, students enjoyed Paletas in the Breezeway near the Holly Auditorium. The week closed out Friday afternoon with a Picnic at the Gazebo with Dr. David Weiss grilling the hot dogs and Dr. Nicquet Blake handing out free t-shirts to all the GSBS students who attended.
Attendance at selected events allowed students to submit a ticket for a chance at a raffle prize. Dean Weiss selected 3 winners from the tickets that were submitted.
Jodie Gray, Melodi Bowman and Meghna Chincharkar were selected as this year’s raffle winners!
