Jeffrey Cooney successfully defended his Ph.D. dissertation!

Congratulations to one of our students in the Cancer Biology track, Jeffrey Cooney who successfully defended his Ph.D. dissertation!

Jeff, who is a GS-4 M.D./Ph.D. student, received the Rennels Award for Excellence in Graduate Studies at our last departmental retreat. He is also recipient of an individual National Research Service Award (F30 predoctoral fellowship) funded by NCI in April 2016.

He will be returning to the Long School of Medicine (MS-3) to complete his medical training in the summer.

Congratulations also to his mentor, Dr. Ricardo Aguiar (Medicine/Hem-Onc)!
