Newest Member of the GSBS Office: Mary Bradley, MLA as the Director of the Office of Career Development
We are so pleased to announce the appointment of Ms. Mary Bradley, MLA as the new Director of the Office of Career Development at the Graduate School of Biomedical Sciences at UT Health San Antonio.
Mary comes to us with a strong history of experiences in helping trainees in the biomedical sciences navigate their career paths. She carried out her undergraduate and graduate work at American University and Washington University of Saint Louis respectively.
Mary is originally from St. Louis and has lived in Washington, D.C., Park City and San Diego. She has since spent the bulk of her career at Washington University in St. Louis where she developed and coordinated a multitude of efforts including a role as founding Director of the Office of Postdoctoral Affairs. More recently, she was at the Sanford Burnham Prebys Medical Discovery Institute in San Diego where she oversaw the day-to-day operations of their Graduate School of Biomedical Sciences.
Mary is an avid traveler. She did a semester abroad in Madrid, Spain and a summer in Jackson Hole, Wyoming. She also visited Egypt in fall 2018. She likes eating out, reading, live music and Broadway shows. In addition to the places worked above, she also worked on the 2002 Winter Olympic Games in Salt Lake City, Utah.
Mary was one of several highly competitive candidates that responded to a national search, and her candidacy was strongly supported by both graduate students and faculty during the interview process. In addition to developing the portfolio programs within the Office of Career Development in the Graduate School, she will be introducing a multitude of new and exciting initiatives to foster the development of our biomedical trainees.
We are both thrilled and lucky she is bringing her wealth of expertise and experiences here. Please join us in welcoming Mary to the UT Health Graduate School Community.
