Post-doc in Alzheimers
Postdoctoral Position Available
The Fossati Lab at the Alzheimer’s Center at Temple (ACT), Temple University Lewis Katz School of Medicine, Philadelphia, has a position available for one postdoctoral fellow. This laboratory is within the recently established and fast growing ACT, and in a world-class academic medical center.
The Fossati lab is working on elucidating the role of neurovascular dysfunction and mitochondria-mediated cell death mechanisms in Alzheimer’s disease (AD), with an aim to develop possible therapeutic strategies and to identify novel targets for drug discovery. We are also focusing on the characterization of bio fluid biomarkers for this disorder, using innovative high sensitivity approaches.
We are interested in candidates with skills in molecular and cell biology, and animal studies including treatment, behavior, immunohistochemical and biochemical analysis. Skills on human brain staining and human bio fluid analysis of biomarkers are a plus.
This postdoctoral position is available for a motivated, enthusiastic recent Ph.D. graduate in Neuroscience, Pharmacology, Cell Biology/Physiology, or Biochemistry/Molecular Biology, with a track record of productivity, who has a broad background in the areas described. Non-U.S. citizens are eligible to apply.
Temple University is an equal opportunity, affirmative action employer. Women and minority candidates are strongly encouraged to apply. Qualified applicants should provide a cover letter outlining research experience and interests, a curriculum vitae, and the names and address of three references addressed to Dr. Fossati (silvia.fossati@temple.edu).
