20 Nov 2019

Dr. José Cavazos and Dr. Keith Krolick have been inducted to the Kenneth I. Shine Academy of Health Science Education.

Induction into the Shine Academy is a highly competitive and prestigious recognition honoring UT System individuals that have demonstrated excellence in all aspects of science education, educational scholarship and leadership.

“While both Drs Cavazos and Krolick have touched all corners of UT Health San an Antonio education over the years, it is their major contributions in graduate education that were highlighted in their nomination. For Dr. Cavazos, it was his stellar directorship of the MD/PhD program that, through his vision and leadership, has procured the highly competitive NIH Medical Scientist Training Program (MSTP) training grant. And for Dr. Krolick, it was his steady hand and clear vision that turned plans for an Integrated Biomedical Sciences  doctoral program (IBMS) into the cutting edge program that it is today,” said Dr. David Weiss, dean of the Graduate School of Biomedical Sciences.

So, please join us in congratulating Drs. Cavazos and Krolick for this well-deserved recognition.
