2020 and 2021 Mentor of the Year Award

The Mentor of the Year Award is presented each year by the Graduate School of Biomedical Sciences at UT Health San Antonio in recognition of their outstanding guidance and support provided to students, fellows, and colleagues. Both Mentors of the Year were awarded $5,000.

The 2020 Mentor of the Year Award recipient is Alice Gong, M.D. She is the medical director of the PREMIEre Program in the Department of Pediatrics. She was nominated by a Ph.D. in Nursing Science student.

The 2021 Mentor of the Year Award recipient is Ann Griffith, Ph.D. She is an assistant professor in the Department of Microbiology, Immunology and Molecular Genetics. She was nominated by two IBMS Ph.D. Students.
