Due to updated University guidelines, only participants and their invited UT Health San Antonio affiliated guests may attend in person.

GSBS Grab-and-Go Meal from Chris Madrid’s
5 p.m.  in the Holly Courtyard
Only GSBS Students, Faculty, and Staff may pick up food to go.
If you are planning to pick up a boxed meal, please submit a new RSVP by 4pm tomorrow, Friday, August 13th.


Convocation and Candidacy Speaker 

Dr. Earlanda Williams is an Associate Professor of Anatomy, Director of Anatomical Sciences and Chair of the Department of Clinical and Applied Science Education at the University of the Incarnate Word School of Osteopathic Medicine (UIWSOM). She joined the faculty at UIWSOM in August 2016 after spending seven years as a faculty member at UT Health San Antonio. Dr. Williams is a GSBS alumna and earned a Ph.D. in the Department of Cellular and Structural Biology at UT Health San Antonio in 2009. Her dissertation research focused on the molecular mechanisms involved in T cell tolerance to the acetyl-choline receptor, the autoantigen in Myasthenia gravis.


Candidacy Ceremony 

The Candidacy Ceremony recognizes our new doctoral candidates. This is an exciting milestone in the journey towards a doctoral degree. Join us in celebrating this wonderful achievement!

Convocation 

During the ceremony, we will announce winners of the Armand J. Guarino Awards for Excellence in Doctoral and Master’s Studies and the Debbie Yrle award. In addition, student winners for the Robles Leadership Award, Heather Menzie Junior Student of the Year Award, and the GSBS Senior Student of the Year Award will be announced.
