Farewell to Amber Yuker and Welcome Tiffany Thompson
We would like to announce that Amber Yuker, Manager of Academic Programs, in the Graduate School of Biomedical Sciences will be leaving us this Friday, September 3rd. I am sure you all have worked with Amber in one way or another in her past six years at UT Health San Antonio or three years in the GSBS Office. We’re immensely grateful for all the contributions that Amber has made in her time here and I think that I speak on behalf of the entire GSBS community, and UT Health when I say that she was she will be sorely missed. Amber was a crucial resource for students, staff and faculty. If you attended convocation, commencement or candidacy, or any other GSBS events that she has played a key role in designing and delivering, you will have witnessed her attention to detail and high bar for quality. She has been consistent, thoughtful, creative, persistent, and altruistic in her service to this institution. Amber has an exciting path ahead of her as she throws herself full time into her and her spouse’s (Nick) rapidly growing business. While her departure is a tough loss for us, we know that this entrepreneurial journey will be an exciting next step for them. Please join me in thanking Amber for her over six years of stellar service to this institution and in wishing her a magnificent future.
With great enthusiasm, I’d like to welcome Tiffany Thompson, the new Manager of Academic Programs. Amber has been mentoring Tiffany over the past couple weeks to enable a clean transition. Tiffany recently moved to San Antonio from the University of North Texas Health Science Center at Fort Worth in the Texas College of Osteopathic Medicine where she worked in the Office of Osteopathic Clinical Education. Prior to that, Tiffany worked in Graduate Medical Education at the Texoma Medical Center. She comes to us with a wealth of academic experience and we are excited to have her on board. She is here in San Antonio with her spouse Kevin, an internal medicine resident at our university, along with their four-month-old son, Ethan. So please join me in welcoming Tiffany to San Antonio and the GSBS office.
