Jessica Zavadil Gets Ready For CPRIT 2015 Oral Presentation
Congratulations to one of our students Jessica
Zavadil, a GS-4 M/D/Ph.D. student in the Cancer Biology track who has been selected for an oral presentation at the upcoming CPRIT 2015 Innovations in Cancer Prevention and Research Conference next month in Austin!
Jessica, who is one of several predoctoral and postdoctoral trainees supported by the CPRIT Research Training Award, is the only UTHSCSA trainee on the platform program.
This CPRIT Innovations IV conference is a major conference and one of the speakers is James Allison, who is the 2015 Lasker-DeBakey Clinical Medical Research Awardee for his pioneering and outstanding work on cancer immunotherapy.
As you may know, the Lasker Award often presages future recognition by the Nobel
committee.
Congratulations also to Jessica’s mentor, Dr. Christi Walter!
