Mouse Genome Engineering and Transgenic Facility Opens
Dear Colleagues,
We wanted to let you know that we have finally established the “Mouse Genome Engineering and Transgenic Facility” at the Health Science Center. This facility is open to investigators at all our UT Health Schools. The attached newsletter provides details about this new facility and the many services that will be offered.
It is our hope that this facility will allow investigators to generate mouse strains at reasonable costs than what is available outside. The facility will provide support letters for investigators who plan on using the services of the facility for grant applications. Investigators will be required to document approved or submitted IACUC protocols for carrying out related animal research. Most importantly, the long-term viability of this facility depends on its productivity and usage by our investigators.
All contact details are in theĀ attached newsletter. Please feel free to contact us for any suggestions and project consultations, if you plan on generating genetically modified mouse strains. We will shortly have the facility website online where additional details will be provided. You may contact Raehum Paik at (Paik@uthscsa.edu) for project consultations and timeline.
