Paul Ernst Joins the Career Advisory Council
Paul Ernst, lead product manager of USAA, joins the Career Advisory Council. The Career Advisory Council is comprised of leaders in the biomedical science community of San Antonio who are a resource of insights and expertise for UT Health Science Center at San Antonio trainees.
In his current position Paul leads and aligns technology and business efforts across USAA to better serve our members. He is also an active mentor for local and military community startups.
Paul transitioned to USAA from the energy industry where he led transformation programs to increase project execution efficiency, expense forecast accuracy and project evolution visualization for engineering, procurement, construction and installation project life cycles.
Prior to this role Paul was honored to serve the United States Army as a Military Intelligence Officer. While on active duty, he initiated programs to increase the language and cultural capabilities of the United States Military, led and developed strategic GIS intelligence products in Afghanistan, and trained and mentored Military Advisory Teams deploying to Afghanistan to support the transition of security responsibility to the Government of Afghanistan.
Paul holds a Master of Science in Technology Commercialization from the University of Texas at Austin and a Bachelor of Science in Economics from the United States Military Academy. He also holds USAA IC2 innovation certification and Product Management certification.
UT Health San Antonio graduate trainees can take part in opportunities offered by the Career Advisory Council by attending workshops and making arrangements for individualized guidance.
