Sadiya Ahmad: 2018 Presidential Ambassador Scholar for the GSBS

Sadiya Ahmad, a third year Cell Biology, Genetics, and Molecular Medicine student in the laboratory of Dr. Naomi Sayre, for being selected as the 2018 Presidential Ambassador Scholar for the Graduate School of Biomedical Sciences.

Each year, the deans of our university nominate one student in their schools to receive this prestigious award. The Presidential Ambassador Scholarship Program is designed to recognize and reward students who will become tomorrow’s leaders for health professions in Texas.

“Sadiya was chosen because of her outstanding scholarly accomplishments and leadership,” said Dr. Renee Yew, director of the Cell Biology, Genetics, and Molecular Medicine (CGM) Discipline of the Integrated Biomedical Sciences program. “We are extremely proud to have Sadiya representing CGM, the GSBS, and our university.”
