Briscoe Library’s 2nd Annual Student Appreciation Week will be taking place October 29th through November 2nd! Head over to the library each day from 11:30 am to 1:30 pm to participate in fun activities and enjoy some food, prizes, and other giveaways.

1) Monday October 29: Student Appreciation Week Kick-Off 

a) 11:30 to 1:30: Spin the wheel for prizes, while supplies last 

b) 11:30 to 1:30 Student Photo Wall (instant pic, students answer one question about career specialization or research interest to post on wall) 

c) 12:30 to 1:00: Ribbon cutting for the new library vending area, Thank you to SGA for the funds, (Jason’s Deli cake and coffee) 

2) Tuesday October 30: Paint Party 

a) 11:30 to 1:30: Spin the wheel for prizes, while supplies last! 

b) 11:30 to 1:30 Student Photo Wall 

c) 11:30 to 1:30 Make your own work of art while you snack on refreshments (Librarian liaisons) 

d) 12:30 to 1:30 San Antonio physician-artist Miguel Vazquez Meet and Greet, Starletta! 

i) Artist Miguel Vasquez will have mini-prints, mugs, and t-shirt giveaways 

e) 1:30 to 2:30: 3-D Printing class with librarian Kelley Minars, 3-D print keychain mini-skulls giveaway to first 20 students 

f) 2:00 to 4:00: Campus police student car clinic 

3) Wednesday October 31: Halloween (cookies, popcorn, and candy) 

a) 11:30 to 1:30: Spin the wheel for prizes, while supplies last 

i) Day of the Dead items 

b) 11:30 to 1:30 Student Photo Wall 

c) 11:30 to 1:30: Have your picture taken on the Halloween photo wall, share on social media 

d) 11:30 to 1:30: Spooky tour of the Nixon library 

i) Goodie bags 

e) 11:30: History of Medicine Trivia Contest with t-shirt giveaway, while supplies last 

f) 11:30 to 1:30: Movie and popcorn in the HUB (50 bags of popcorn provided by Student Life) 

4) Thursday November 1: Cookies and Coloring (Day of the Dead) 

a) 11:30 to 1:30: Spin the wheel for prizes, while supplies last 

b) 11:30 to 1:30 Student Photo Wall 

c) 11:30 to 1:30 (or later): Eat cookies and color a mural with fellow students! 

d) 2:00 to 3:00: Attend the IoR awards ceremony, meet the winners and judges, refreshments served (Jason’s Deli mini-sandwiches, cookies, coffee and soda) 

5) Friday November 2: Game Day – Puppies and Games 

a) 11:30 to 1:30: Spin the wheel for prizes, while supplies last 

b) 11:30 to 1:30 Student Photo Wall 

c) 11:30 to 12:30 Come to meet the Library therapy dogs, June and Angel 

d) 11:30 to 1:30 (or longer): Relax and play some games! 

e) 12:30 to 1:30: Library How-To demonstrations, How to win at the library game…: Virtual Reality, Electronic Resources, Interlibrary Loan, library book giveaways
