Congratulations to alum Dr. Nourhan Abdelfattah whose first author paper “MiR-584-5p potentiates vincristine and radiation response by inducing spindle defects and DNA damage in medulloblastoma” has been published with Nature Communications! She is also co-author on another paper in press with Science Advances.
Nour is currently a postdoctoral fellow in the Department of Neurosurgery at The Methodist Research Institute in Houston with Dr. Kyuson Yun (who is also a Faculty member at Weill Cornell Medical College in New York).
Nour who was in the Cancer Biology discipline in Manjeet Rao’s lab, graduated with her Ph.D. degree in May 2018.
While in our program, Nour received a prestigious Faculty of the Future Predoctoral Fellowship Award from the Schlumberger Foundation in 2016 that was renewed for another year in 2017 and she was the 2015 recipient of our department and graduate program’s David Carrillo Memorial Fellowship Award for Excellence in Graduate Studies.
