Congratulations to one of our students in the Cancer Biology (CB) track, Ming Gao, who successfully defended his PhD dissertation recently!

Ming will be starting postdoctoral training shortly in the lab of James Brugarolas, M.D., Ph.D. at the University of Texas Southwestern (UTSW) Medical Center in Dallas. Dr. Brugarolas is Professor of Internal Medicine, Cancer Biology, Genetics, Development and Disease as well as the Sherry Wigley Crow Cancer Research Endowed Chair in Honor of Lewis Kirby, M.D.,  Director of the Kidney Center and PI/PD of one of the only two NCI-funded Specialized Program of Research Excellence (SPORE) in Kidney Cancer in the country.

Ming, who was a student in the Wang lab, was a recipient of a predoctoral fellowship from the institutional CPRIT research training grant and he also received a competitive Young Investigator travel award from the American Pancreatic Association (APA) Travel award in 2016 to attend the 47th annual meeting of the APA in Boston, MA.

Congratulations also to Ming’s mentor, Pei Wang!
