Charlotte Anthony Receives 2019 Presidential Award
Charlotte Anthony, senior marketing specialist at the Graduate School of Biomedical Sciences, has received the 2019 Presidential Award.
Established in 1985, the Presidential Awards recognize exemplary performance by individuals who consistently excel in their positions and demonstrate a strong commitment to the mission and core values of UT Health San Antonio.
The recipients will be honored with a plaque and cash award at a special dinner on March 7.
Charlotte is the leader of many inter-professional initiatives on campus such as UTHSCSA Voices, Interprofessional Orientation and the STEM Scholar Program which encourage communication and collaboration among students of the five schools.
In addition to her work as Editor-in-Chief for The Pipette Gazette where she writes articles about faculty, students, and alumni of the Graduate School of Biomedical Sciences, she is also the creator of the Pipette Kids Science Coloring and Activity Book which is now sold on Amazon to raise funds to support K-12 science outreach.
Charlotte also led a team to create the first-ever Family Day on campus which welcomed families of students, residents, staff, and faculty to tour UT Health San Antonio booths showcasing the different departments and participate in activities such as a Petting Zoo and Face Painting.
Charlotte is also responsible for creating events for students such as the Halloween social, DNA painting and Periodic Table Cooking Decorating event.
In addition to her position where she creates marketing material for the Graduate School, she also helps to organize science outreach events such as the Girls Inc. Rock IT Stem Festival.
